With Spring and Summer just round the corner, it is time to get your garden looking great for upcoming garden parties! It has been a horrible Winter and we are sure everyone’s garden is looking a bit tired and dull. However, do not worry, we have created a list of things to do to get your garden back to looking beautiful!

Beautiful garden after being restored

Useful tools:

  1. Lawnmower
  2. Hedge trimmer
  3. Gardening gloves
  4. Shears
  5. Shovel/ spade
  6. Brush
  7. Bin bags
  8. Power washer

Restoring your garden

Firstly, remove all rubbish/ leaves from your garden and place into bin bags.

Then, remove all weeds and dead plants to make space for new flowers, plants and decorations.

Afterwards, cut your grass with a lawnmower. If there are patches of grass missing, why not put some grass seed down to help with regrowth.

Cut back any overgrown hedges, trees or branches. It is a good idea to do this after cutting your grass as this means that you won’t accidentally go over big sticks or branches with your lawnmower. Remove all of the cuttings once finished.

Brush away any dirt off of concreate and power wash if dirty.

Next, clean up garden furniture if you have any. Get rid of any broken or unusable furniture or decorations.

Now that you have removed all of the dirt and overgrowth, it is time to get your plants, flowers and decorations ready. If you aren’t decorating with any of these, why not add some lighting? Read our blog on How to Create Your Own Outdoor Fairy Orb Lighting.

Then, plant all of your flowers/ plants in your fresh soil. Make sure to get rid off weeds often to make sure your plants look their best!

Finally, place a few decorations around if you wish. Solar powered decorations are a great addition to any garden as they don’t require any batteries and come on automatically once it is dark, creating a bright and beautiful sight!
