Compare Recycled Brocade Honeycomb Pencil Case Price

Brand: Shared Earth

Beautiful pencil case created using the off-cuts from a brocade fabric factory This bright and beautiful fabric pencil case is soft suitable for carrying pens, pencils, etc. and even cosmetics. It has a multicoloured honeycomb design, is lined with royal blue material and a zip on top with gold coloured thread and blue tassels attached.  Makes a great gift if you can bear to part with it! This pencil case has been created using the leftover off-cuts from a fabric factory – by repurposing this scrap fabric, our artisans are saving these gorgeous textiles from going into a landfill! Brocade fabrics are woven on draw looms, taking much longer than many other textiles due to the intricate nature of the technique, and the years of practice it often takes for artisans to develop their skills. The brocade designs often add a thickness and sturdiness to the fabric that is absent in other design as the pattern is woven into the fabric itself instead of being added on top. The painstaking effort, traditional significance, and elaborate designs that brocade fabric often has all contribute to these products looking beautiful and sophisticated. Material:   Front: recycled patterned brocade; Lining: recycled blue fabric. Size:   4cm high x 20cm wide x 4cm deep   Shared Earth Our Mission: "To improve the livelihoods of disadvantaged people in developing countries, benefiting local community projects and keeping alive traditional skills that would otherwise be lost." Shared Earth's policy is to provide quality, design-led products, not just to those who are already aware of Fair Trade principles. With Fair Trade sales showing no sign of slowing, more and more employment is being provided for artisans in developing countries, many of who would otherwise be out of work. At a time when global conflict seems also on the increase, Shared Earth's partnerships with producers are an invaluable way of building bridges, showing that people can work together for mutual benefit, no matter what their race, religion or culture.
