DeWalt Atomic Range Explained

8 March 2023

DeWalt is one of the most famous and well known brands in the DIY and tool sector. They have over 200 electric power tools and over 800 accessories available. The Atomic range is one of the most recent additions to the DeWalt family and uses the same 20v MAX battery packs that are used in the XR range. But what is it? In this blog, we will look into the Atomic range in more depth and explain the range’s advantages and disadvantages!

What is the DeWalt Atomic range?

What is the DeWalt Atomic Range?

Firstly, the atomic range is a line up of DeWalt tools that are powerful whilst keeping compact and lightweight. This range was introduced in 2019 and was created to be the smaller yet still ultra powerful part of the DeWalt family. It is similar to the XR Range as it uses the same batteries, (read here for the XR Range Explained) however, there are less tools in the Atomic range compared to the XR range. Despite the smaller size and reduced line up, the Atomic range makes up for it in power. Although the Atomic range doesn’t have the most powerful tools in the DeWalt family, they tend to be more powerful than many of the XR models and are a great addition to any home’s tool kit! If you use your tools regularly or find handling heavy tools difficult, the Atomic range may be perfect for you.

Finally, the Atomic range tends to be a cheaper alternative to the XR Range. This makes the Atomic range perfect for anyone who is money conscious or on a budget!
