The festive season is upon us, which means it is time for some indulgence! And what better way to indulge than with some delicious festive cocktails? Here are our top 5 which will get you into the festive spirit.

Cranberry Margarita Cocktail

This Cranberry Margarita is the perfect festive cocktail you’ll love! Plus it is super easy and quick to make with only 4 ingredients.

Ingredients required (6 servings):

  • 800ml cranberry juice
  • 250ml blanco or silver tequila
  • 180ml triple sec
  • Lime juice from 3 limes
  • Fresh cranberries (optional)

When choosing which tequila to use for this cocktail, you’ll want to choose a high-quality blanco or silver tequila for the best flavour. And it doesn’t have to be expensive, as there are affordable options.

  1. Once you have got all of your ingredients, all that’s left to do is mix them together! We recommend using a cocktail shaker, but if you don’t have one then you can use a large glass and mix the ingredients with a spoon.
  2. Once thoroughly mixed, it’s time to garnish and make your margaritas look pretty and festive! For garnish we suggest using some fresh cranberries, a sprig of rosemary and some sugar around the rim of the glass.
  3. Then you are done and ready to serve, as simple as that!

Baileys Peppermint Martini

This Baileys Peppermint Martini is a festive treat, perfect for serving to guests or just to enjoy yourself while cosying up watching a Christmas movie!

Ingredients required (6 servings):

  • 350ml Baileys Original Irish Cream
  • 180ml dark chocolate liqueur
  • 180ml double cream
  • 180ml peppermint vodka
  • Golden syrup
  • Peppermint sticks/sweets
  1. Start by crushing up some peppermint sticks/sweets on a plate.
  2. Pour some golden syrup onto another plate, and dip the rim of your cocktail glass into the syrup and then into the crushed peppermint.
  3. Combine the Baileys, chocolate liqueur, double cream, peppermint vodka and some ice cubes in your cocktail shaker.
  4. Once thoroughly mixed, strain the mixture into your cocktail glasses and you’re ready to serve!

Pomegranate Gin Fizz

This Pomegranate Gin Fizz cocktail is bright and refreshing, the perfect way to welcome friends and family this Christmas. Especially if they are gin fans! Plus it is very simple to make.

Ingredients required (6 servings):

  • 130ml gin
  • 45ml fresh lime juice
  • 45ml simple syrup
  • 90ml grenadine
  • 530ml sparkling water
  • 4 and a half tablespoons of pomegranate
  • Lime slices
  • Sprigs of mint
  1. Combine the gin, lime juice, syrup and grenadine in your cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Once thoroughly mixed, pour into glasses and add the sparkling water.
  3. Add some lime slices to the glasses and garnish with some pomegranate and a sprig of mint.

Now you’re ready to serve!

Eggnog Cocktail

You can’t get more festive than a delicious eggnog cocktail! And we think this one will be on top of your festive cocktails list for years to come.

Ingredients required (6 servings):

  • 180ml amaretto
  • 180ml vodka
  • 350ml eggnog
  • Nutmeg
  • Cinnamon
  • Caramel sauce
  • Whipped cream

If you live in the UK and are unable to find eggnog in the shops, it is simple to make your own! Here’s how:

Make your own eggnog (6 servings):

  • 6 large eggs
  • 100g granulated sugar
  • 250ml double cream
  • 450ml milk
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  1. Start by whisking the egg yolks and the sugar together in a bowl until light and creamy.
  2. In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the cream, milk, nutmeg and salt. Stir until it reaches a bare simmer.
  3. Add a spoonful of the mixture to the bowl with the eggs and sugar. Whisk vigorously and repeat this process by adding more spoons of the milk mixture to temper the eggs.
  4. Once most of the hot milk mixture has been added to the eggs, pour the mixture back into the saucepan.
  5. Whisk for a few minutes until the mixture is just slightly thickened. Remove from the heat and pour through a strainer into a pitcher or container.
  6. Refrigerate until chilled (it will thicken as it cools.

Once your eggnog is prepared, simply:

  1. Add your caramel sauce to the rim of your cocktail glasses.
  2. Combine the eggnog, Amaretto and vodka in your cocktail shaker with some ice.
  3. Strain into a cocktail glass and top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Now you’re ready to enjoy your delicious eggnog!

Citrus Christmas Punch

Put a festive twist on a summer favourite with this Citrus Christmas punch that is bursting with apple and orange flavours.

Ingredients required (1 punch bowl):

  • 450ml apple juice
  • 350ml orange juice
  • 450ml dry ginger ale
  • 700ml lemonade
  • 150ml vodka
  • Ice cubes
  • Apple slices
  • Orange slices
  • Cinnamon sticks
  1. Combine the apple juice, orange juice, ginger ale, lemonade, vodka and ice in a cocktail shaker. Mix until combined.
  2. Pour the mixture into glasses or a punch bowl.
  3. Garnish with the apple and orange slices, and some cinnamon sticks.
